In the event of a tie for the day winner , the winner will be decided by comparing the last 9 holes, then the last 6, last 3, Last 1 hole until the tie is broken.

The Green Tour is a treasured trophy. Members possessing this trophy have toiled over a number of years to earn the right to don this hallowed item. New members are not eligible to win in their Rookie year.

In order to ensure that existing green tour members are active on the Green Tour, effective Jan 1 2016, each green tour member will need to play in a minimum of 3 “Green Tour” rounds of golf over 2 successive years, in order to retain their membership of the Green Tour

As a courtesy to your fellow competitors, please arrive at least 50 minutes before the tee time.  This will ensure the smooth running of each round and allow players to step on to the tee relaxed and focused and with time to trash talk with their playing partners....:-))

Each group (3 or 4-ball) is required to keep two separate scorecards and record the gross score of each player AND the stableford score both on the scorecards and on the online scoring sheet. This should be done after each hole and not in the clubhouse afterwards. Signed cards cannot be changed later even if the incorrect handicap is used.

At the end of each round, both scorecards must be compared and agreed and a final signed card (which also records the stableford score) must be submitted to reflect the final score for all players in the group. The card should be signed by the two players who recorded the scores during the round.

Players 65 and older as of 1/1/2022 may elect to move up a tee box (Blue to White) with their handicaps adjusted down, This election must be declared and advised to the handicap chairman prior to 3/15/2025 and will apply to all 4 rounds.

All other players shall play from the same Tee Box which will be determined by the Committee. The Committee shall communicate in advance of the round what tee box marking, the players should tee off from. The tee boxes for the main group shall be marked by our traditional Irish Flag, but in the event of any confusion such as the flags being moved, Members must tee off from the correct tee box marking (not the Irish Flag marking) as communicated by the Committee. Failure to tee off from the correct tee box will result in the score for that hole not being eligible to be included in the points scored for that day.

Foursomes will be based on handicaps or a blind draw and the Final round will be determined by your position on the leaderboard. The leaders will tee off in the final group and will be determined by the aggregate best two scores of the three preceding events.

If any part of your golf ball is within 24 inches of the edge of the cup, the putt will be conceded and counted as one additional stroke. If in doubt on the distance, the Pace Captains will determine if any part of the golf ball is within the 24 inches by using a preapproved distance mark on their putter. No golf ball should be picked up unless conceded by another member. If a golf ball is removed without the agreement of another member, an additional stroke (2 strokes in total) will be added to the score for that hole.”

Absolutely No Mulligans (however directionless, unaerodynamic and ugly one's tee shots!)

Ball must be played as it lies unless weather conditions necessitate a pre-announced 'lift, clean and place' policy or you are entitled to relief under the rules of golf (i.e. casual water, immovable obstructions etc..)

Local Rule for all rounds: Players are permitted to take relief for an embedded ball (which is a ball embedded in its own pitch-mark in the ground) anywhere through the green. This does not apply if your ball is in a hazard

In the interest of keeping play moving, please promptly trouser your golf ball if you cannot score at least one stableford point on a given hole.  Despite your determination to get value for money, hurling divots the size of dead cats through the air on the way to a 10 or an 11 is not an enjoyable sight for your playing partners....

No caddies are allowed unless forecaddies are required by the host club

A sumptuous part of the Green Tour outings is the Skins Extravaganza. The Maximum allowable Handicap is 18.

All monies not won in the first three rounds are allocated to the #1 Index hole in the Final Round

The Green Tour guest fee is $250  Guests may not participate in the Skins Extravaganza. All guests are very welcome to gamble aggressively within their foursomes!  In all circumstances, Green Tour members will be afforded first priority in terms of tee time availability

There will be no cash credits payable for green fees if you are unavailable to play in one or more of the 4 events. Your cash will be used to pay bar tabs and prizes and in your absence, you will be toasted and acknowledged...:-)

We would ask everyone to try to join the group for a couple of 'social' hours after each round as this is an important dimension to the Green Tour's Mission.
