2018 

It came down to the last hole, to the last putt, for one of the original Green Tour Founders, Mr. Jim O’Sullivan, to secure the elusive Green Tour Championship. Brian Boland make it an extremely tight race with a tremendous birdie on the 17th hole. It never went to a playoff, but it certainly felt like one, as the other GT members witnessed the epic battle on the 18th hole. Other members that were in the hunt included:

1. The 2017 Green Champion Martin McDonnell who won “highest score of the day” with 36 points, finished 2nd - 2 points back. The bookie will be certainly tightening his odds for a repeat  

2. Noel Goggin and Brian Boland who both finished a mere 3 points back, are certain future contenders

3. Ciaran O’Flaherty and Danny Lynch finished 7 points back and were in closer contention than they realized

 

A big congratulation to Jimmy the Grip, who after 15 previous attempts, will be recognized as the 2018 Green Tour Champion on November 3rd 2018.
